December 7, 2007 - Senator Rafferty presented a citation to the Coatesville Marching Red Raiders, and their director Mr. Ed Otto. The Marching Red Raiders recently won two major competitions. Listed below are the accomplishments of these fine students. 

The 2007 USSBA Pennsylvania and Delaware 4A State Championships with a score of 88.4 (USSBA = United States Scholastic Band Association) In addition to winning the state 4A Championships the band also won and received awards for: Best Percussion, Best Effect, Best Music, Best Visual, High Overall score for the Championship Competition. 

On November 10, 2007 the Marching Red Raiders of Coatesville competed in the 2007 Cavalcade of Bands Championships in Hershey, Pa.  They won: the 2007 Cavalcade of Bands Yankee A Division with a score of 94.14. In addition to winning the Cavalcade of Bands Yankee A Championships the band also won: Best Music, Best Percussion, Best Overall Effect, Best Visual Performance.
