FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Senator Rafferty Thanks Local Business & Employees For Repairing Driveway at Spring City ArmoryThe Spring City Armory in East Vincent Township, Chester County, got an early Christmas present this year thanks to a donation of time, equipment and effort from employees of Haines and Kibblehouse, a construction company in Skippack, PA. Senate Transportation Committee Chairman John Rafferty (R-Montgomery) said the Armory has a new, repaired driveway – donated by Scott Haines and John Mast of Haines and Kibblehouse and Jim Ring of Mattiola Construction and their employees who wanted to give something back to area veterans. "I had been to the Armory a number of times to welcome troops home and noticed that the driveway was crumbling and full of potholes," Rafferty said. "I mentioned this to the folks at Haines and Kibblehouse and they came out on their own to the site to fix the driveway and show their appreciation for our troops. They arrived with materials, equipment and employees, who donated their time and effort. The end result is a repaired driveway that will greatly benefit the Guard." Rafferty noted that with a tight state budget, funding is scarce for transportation projects, particularly small ones such as the driveway at Spring City Armory. "I am so proud that a local company and its workers pitched in to get this project done, at no cost to taxpayers as a way of saying thank you to our troops and their families," Rafferty said. "This is an example of neighbors helping neighbors and a great way to honor our troops, particularly during this holiday season."
