FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Rafferty Receives Legislator of the Year AwardSenator John Rafferty recently received the Legislator of the Year Award for economic development from the TriCounty Area Chamber of Commerce in Pottstown, Montgomery County. Rafferty was honored for his support of revitalization projects including bridge repairs in Spring City and Royersford Borough, a Montgomery County Community College expansion project in Pottstown including the pedestrian underpass, as well as the Walnut Street arch reconstruction, the redevelopment of Mrs. Smith's Pie and the Fidelity Bank Building. The Chamber also recognized Rafferty for the support of state grants he provided for a new vehicle for the Goodwill Ambulance Company and a feasibility study for a regional performing arts center in the Pottstown. "He attends major and minor events in the area and always makes himself available," Chamber President Dale Mahle said.
