FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Eastbound US 422 Lane Closure This Weekend in King of Prussia AreaKING OF PRUSSIA, PA – Eastbound Route 422 traffic will be reduced from two lanes to one between the Route 363 and Route 23 interchanges in West Norriton and Upper Merion townships, Montgomery County, for most of the upcoming weekend (April 25-27) for bridge deck repairs on the structure over the Schuylkill River, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) said today. Route 422’s eastbound left lane will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday (April 25) to 1 p.m. Saturday (April 26), and the eastbound right lane will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday (April 26) to 1 p.m. Sunday (April 27). Motorists are advised to allow extra time to travel east on Route 422 because backups may occur. Westbound travel lanes on Route 422 will not be affected by construction this weekend. The operation is part of PennDOT’s $5.5 million project to reduce congestion on westbound Route 422 during weekday evening rush hours by adding a third westbound lane between the Route 23 and Route 363. The project also includes repairs to the Route 422 bridge over the Schuylkill River. Construction is scheduled to finish in November. Glasgow, Inc. of Glenside, Pa. is the general contractor on the $5,514,984 contract that is financed with 80 percent federal and 20 percent state funds. CONTACT:
